Sweet c1930s, labeled Norah Wellings, SWISS national costume, cloth Novelty doll

Description: This is a very sought after, labeled Norah Wellings, England, female character doll, circa late 1930s. With her charming happy expression she is one of the National Costume novelty model line from this maker's production. Standing, approximately 8" tall, she has a stockinette head with swivel neck, individually stitched fingers, finely sculptured features with lovely, long blond hair, painted side glancing eyes, eyelashes, good coloring and expressive mouth. She wears her red and dark blue velveteen gown with organdy sleeves and trim, matching, lace trimmed bonnet and apron, beaded necklace and black velveteen shoes. Similar dolls from this line are shown on pages 76, "Norah Wellings Cloth Dolls & Soft Toys"-Gillian Trotter. She has her full, sewn-on cloth label on the base of one foot and is in extremely good, clean condition. She has no rips, tears or holes, no fading or wear and no stains or odors as she is from a smoke free collection.
