Description: These "Sweet Gum Pods" or "Witch's Burrs" come straight from my North Georgia backyard! They are from the Sweet Gum Trees that decorate my yard every time the wind blows. These are this years crop and I collect them as they fall....usually to protect my poor dog's feet! They are popular for crafts and as "Witch's Burrs" for their "Mystical Power" sometimes in candle making. Each box contains 50 "Pods" which weigh about 12 ounces. I soak them in bleach or vinegar water and then dry them in either the oven or the sun, this eliminates unwanted guests in your crafts! The tiny seeds still come out though. They range in diameter from approximately 1" to 1 1/4". The stems are sometimes attached when packaged and I try to send just the pretty pokey ones! And always a few extra!
