Description: Tales From Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb 1843 7th Edition - Very Rare. Designed for the Use of Young People. Ornamented with Engravings, from Designs by Harvey First, note the spelling - Shakspeare - which reflects the time of publication. Originally the "Tales" were to be anonymous but the publisher persuaded an unreluctant Charles to have his name on the title page. Mary did not get her name on the title page until this seventh edition. Binding is good and tight and cover is good except for a little storage wear on the edges as shown and a little water stain on the back cover. Pages are all good condition except for a couple of bent corners as shown. One corner rip on the first inside blue page as shown. An unknown name and number is written in pencil as shown. All of the engraving have some worn of water condensation reaction to them as one of the pictures show an example of. I believe that is most if not all of the imperfections. All in all, pretty good condition for a book of its age.
