The walnut frame has a few nicks. The ceramic plaque is in nearly perfect condition, with no breaks, flea-bites or repairs. This outstanding and in impeccably well-preserved condition, vintage Modernist Italian figurative ceramic plaque mounted in a walnut frame on grass wall paper liner is one of a pair of nearly identical figurative wall art pieces signed Tamborini (Italy.) The plaques were discovered in an estate on the North Shore of Massachusetts. The ceramic plaque is very well preserved with nary a scratch on it & with no fractures, scuffs, abrasions or flea-bites to any of its edges. The figuration is characteristic of other Italian figurative works at the time and in this case featuring a pipe smoking musician, with large brimmed hat and with a tasseled side bag, wearing what appears to be festive, pirate clothes. The piece is gloriously stylized. Magnificent. Big. Beautiful. The second of two pieces. Very clean. Gorgeous. CONDITION:Minor wear consistent with age & history. The walnut frame has a few nicks and the grass paper liner has a slight lifting and bubble (where the grass wallpaper separated from the backing board) in the lower right corner. No attempt has been made to re-glue or to lay this small area back down. The piece has been left alone and remains in the exact same condition it was discovered in. The ceramic plaque is in nearly perfect condition, with no breaks, flea-bites or repairs.
