Description: Up for sale is a restored Technics SL-D2 Quartz locked turntable in very good condition. The table was in very rough shape when found and was suffering from cut RCA cables/ground wire, broken stylus, etc. It was also extremely dirty with a scuffed dust cover. The cut audio signal cables were trimmed and connected to a female RCA connection plate that was intentional the tables chassis. There was no real way to rebuild them factory correct but this way allows you to connect with your preferred brand of audio signal cables. The ground wire was also repaired a new, extra long piece of fine strand 24 AWG wire soldered to the board and run through the same connection block as the RCAs. All of the original capacitors were replaced with fresh Nichicon and Panasonic stock. The gear mech and lift assembly were cleaned and regreased so it operates smoothly now. The entire chassis was cleaned and made to look as best as it could considering the scuffs/scratches present. There’s nothing too horrible but it’s not a pristine table. The dust cover was polished with a few different compounds to remove most of the scratches but some remain. Also included with the table is a freshly installed Audio Technica cartridge with about 45 seconds of play time on it, the replaced capacitors, a Technics 45 rpm adapter and the original owners manual If you noticed the slight hum in the video, that is from my other turntable that was not grounded during filming. When this table is grounded into your receiver, it’s dead silent.
