These comics are old and tanned, but can be handled with ease. Some dates might be more tanned than others. Dates are often written in the margin on the reverse side in pencil. Condition notes are predominately focused on the comic on the front side (comic featured for the auction). Top and bottom margins are sometimes narrow. The comic was often on the centerfold of the newspaper. Color register is sometimes off a little bit, but the printing really looks great with these comics. These comics often had small tiny pin-prick holes, often a few in a hole, which appear to have been caused by some sort of machinery. These are normally very tiny and not very noticeable and I often had to hold the comic up to the light to find them. Otherwise many of these would have probably never been noticed. Most of the individual date condition notes relate to this issue. Sometimes this also resulted in scratches and/or indentations. The comics still look good, but we wanted to make sure to document these issues (don't see this often). Many of these holes are almost too small to see, some others are slightly larger. It is possible we went a little overboard in trying to detect these holes (might have counted natural tiny holes in the pulp). See pictures for an example. However, it was difficult to take pictures of this issue and the pictures might not have come out perfect. We also made some notes of some date specific issues (we tried to avoid making too many notes, and instead preferred to go the generalized condition notes above). This should serve as a guide to the condition of the set, it is possible that we have not caught everything: INDIVIDUAL DATE CONDITION NOTES Date CONDITION 1-6 Some slight ink transfer and a few small tears in the bottom margin. 1-13 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 9...mostly very tiny). 1-20 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 12...mostly very tiny). 1-27 Numerous tiny pin-prick holes in the comic (about 28...mostly very tiny). There are also two scratch/indentation/tear lines on the right side (about 3.5 cm). One of these is broken through as an interior tear/cut. The other one is more of a indentation scratch. The comic is also printed over a slight wrinkle line across the left side of the comic. 3-10 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 12...mostly very tiny). 3-31 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 12...mostly very tiny). 4-21 Numerous tiny pin-prick holes in the comic (about 39). Most of these are very tiny and could only be located when carefully examining with the comic held up to the light. There are a couple, closer to the margins, that are a little larger and shaped more like slits. 5-5 Numerous tiny pin-prick holes in the comic (about 17...mostly very tiny). 5-19 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 8...mostly very tiny). 6-2 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 11...mostly very tiny). 6-9 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 10...mostly very tiny). 8-11 A number of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (about 9...mostly very tiny). Most of these are very tiny and could only be located when carefully examining with the comic held up to the light.
