Though an able ruler, Tetricus I grew tired of threats to his life, and in A.D. 273, he surrendered his crown andarmy to the Emperor Aurelian in Rome. Tetricus I was made governor ot the province of Lucania before retiring. He lived to an elderly age and was one of the few emperors to die of natural causes
