Description: This is a T. H. Witherby socket slick used for flattening beams for both post and beam framing and for wooden boats. The total length with the handle is just shy of 32". The blade is a little over 17" long and measures 3 3/8" in width. There are staining marks on both side of the blade. Although I doubt that is the original edge, since my father used to sharpen everything, it does look old. I hit it with a stone and it is quite sharp. The handle is original and must have been on the loose side, because my father put some epoxy on the taper. When tapped lightly, the handle locks in quite well. Overall this is excellent shape for use or for your collection. I will ship this with wood on the edge so it will not drive its way through the box. Please review the attached pictures.
