Description: Three iconic sessions recorded in 1962 from what would soon to become the world's greatest band. 1. The Decca Audition. On the 1st January 1962, before they reached international stardom, the Beatles auditioned for Decca Records at Decca Studios in West Hampstead, north London. In what is considered one of the biggest mistakes in music industry history, Decca decided to reject the band, selecting instead Brian Poole and the Tremeloes. Offered here is the complete audition in its entirety. 2. Cavern Club Rehearsal. Performed at the now legendary Cavern Club Liverpool, this is an afternoon rehearsal just prior to the evening performance. It was recorded sometime between August and December 1962. Ringo has confirmed that it is his drumming featured here and that is was recorded shortly after he joined the band. 3. Live At The Star Club. The Star-Club, opened on the 13th April 1962, with The Beatles booked for the first seven weeks. They returned to Hamburg in November and December 1962 for their fourth and fifth engagements there, which had been booked for the Star-Club many months in advance. Unlike their previous three trips to Hamburg, their drummer was Starr, having replaced Pete Best in August. The Beatles were reluctant to return for their final two-week booking, which started on the 18th December, as they were gaining popularity in Britain and had just achieved their first charted single with "Love Me Do".
