Description: The Brutal Telling, by Louise Penny 2,009. Minotaur Books:New York. I have read this book along with 12 other Of Penny’s books featuring Detective Gamache of French Canada. He lives in a small village called Three Pines where a murdered stranger is found in a local bistro. What is really odd is that no one knows him. Where did he come from, and how did he get there and why there? Because this village is in the middle of nowhere and not even ion the map! So who killed him? Gamache is pretty sure that one of the Bistro owners is the killer, but is he right? Penny is a master storyteller writing layers upon layers of story content with tons of plot twists. Granted I listened to all these books on Hoopla which were read by an amazing reader who unfortunately passed away. However, what is nice about a physical book that you can hold in your hand like this is it’s easier to look back and find the part that you want to reread. Softcover. 396 pages. 8 1/4 inches long by 5.5 inches wide, weighing at estimated 13 oz when packaged.
