Description: This is a softcover book The Day the Neelys Came to Town written by author Virgil Oglesby. It is inscribed to a previous owner and SIGNED by the author. The book is in Very Good clean condition. The author was a veteran of 28 years in the U.S. Army, his career having spanned the period from World War II through the end of the Vietnam conflict. He rose through the ranks from private to Lieutenant Colonel. Oglesby served in Airborne, Special Forces and Special Operations and was a battalion commander in Vietnam. His exemplary service brought him a number of awards, including a Silver Star, Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, seven Bronze Stars and numerous Army and Air Force Commendation Medals along with the Purple Heart. The author wrote quite a few books - with most being fiction, but founded on his military background and knowledge.
