Description: "The Flood of 1903" is an unpaginated, 7"x5.5" softcover published circa 1903 by Chicago & Alton Railway. The June 1903 flood caused serious damage in the Kansas City to St. Louis area and the railway issued this promotional booklet to tout its ability to operate continuously through the flood period and provide the only reliable means of transportation. There are many black-and-white photos showing the extent of the damage, including 6 fold-outs. In acceptable condition with bent/dog-eared corners, small marginal hole to the second leaf, creases and tears to several fold-outs. One fold-out has writing at the top, one page is missing the bottom corner.
