There was a slight shadow at the time the photos were taken). Never framed. Image size: 26 1/4"w x 19 1/2"h and 29 1/4" w x 23 1/2" h including the border. On the April 18, 1942, Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle's B-25 leads the way to Tokyo for a bombing raid to show the world that the United States (U.S.) was still alive and kicking four months after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. The 16 B-25 Mitchells left the carrier "Hornet" to attack Tokyo's more vulnerable northern side. The mission was a success and bolstered U.S. morale.
