Description: The Johnny Letman Quartet - Four faces of Johnny / Tasty / Oh how I miss you tonight. Good (G) condition 7" vinyl EP. Jazz. Some wear. Original company sleeve. Johnny Letman (1917-1992) was a trumpeter and singer in the traditional- mainstream vein, who had been on the scene for quite a long time, playing with such bandleaders as Lucky Millinder and Cab Calloway, before rising to prominence in the late 50s. But his lack of recognition (on records, at least) had not beenlike the fate of some other mainstreamersa matter of simply being forgotten. Letman never was known to any extent until 1958, when he started working out of the Metropole in New York City. If you have any questions, please get in touch. See the recognised and widely accepted Record Collector grading system below. Postage: I post out items every Monday and Friday, so please be aware of this. There maybe occasions (ie: Covid, bank hols, nuclear apocalypse) where this might not happen. So, if you buy an item on Tuesday, I'll post it out on Friday. If you buy something on Sunday, it'll get posted out on Monday. I combine postage costs for multiple buys. Please ask about this. All my records are sent in stiff card mailers, so don't worry about them arriving smashed up. Similarly, I post tapes and CD's with card wrapped around them to protect the cases. Books and magazines, including programmes & comics, are sent out in card to avoid bending. I post out carded figures in a larger box filled with air cushion padded things to avoid cards bending and plastic bubbles getting buggered up. Whilst you're here......why not check out my other items. Plenty more records, CDs, tapes and music paraphernalia with new items added daily. Keep checking back. Thanks for taking the time to look. Record Collectors Grading system: Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable. Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc . CDs and CASSETTES As a general rule I aim to sell CDs and Cassettes which are considered at least 'good'. (See guide above). I give cases a wipe over. In the case of really smashed in cases, I replace them.
