Description: This is a nice collectible gilded leather and cloth-bound edition of “The Practical Cogitator or The Thinker's Anthology,” a Harvard Prize Book edited by Charles P. Curtis, Jr. and Ferris Greenslet and published in 1945. This is a very handsome book with 3/4 maroon leather and cloth-bound boards, raised bands on the gilded decorative spine, and gilded top edges. The binding remains solid and there are no noted marks or significant soiling throughout the 577 pages — only the name of the book’s original recipient on the presentation page, dated 1948. There’s a bit of light shelf wear to the outside, and some light cracking of the leather along the edges of the spine and outer corners of the book. But they don’t detract from the rich appearance of this collectible edition. Please look closely at all photos to best judge condition for yourself, as they are as much a part of my description as the words here. I’ve tried to show the book from every angle, and a representative sampling of pages inside, but please let me know if you have questions or want to see anything specific. Lastly, dimensions of the book are about 7.5” x 5” x 1”. Thanks for looking!
