DISCUSSION: The important 1957 painting "If Not, Not" by R. B. Kitaj takes its inspiration from T. S. Eliot's landmark modernist poem. Kitaj stated that his painting bears "a certain allegiance to Eliot's Waste Land and its family of loose assemblages". Proprietor Andrew Hoyem ingeniously illustrates the poem with Kitaj's painting by using small sections of the painting interspersed throughout the text in 14 page intervals, with the entire painting finally revealed at the conclusion of the poem. An elegant presentation of Eliot's landmark twentieth century poem. Please examine all of the photographs carefully and ask all questions prior to purchase as sale is final.
