The Works of Alfred, Lord Tennyson 12 volumes 4 vol Memoir

Description: 12 volumes of the works of Tennyson in a limited edition (Edition de Grande Luxe) with this being 242/1000 published by the firm of Estes and Lauriat with the four volume set of memoirs by Tennyson’s son published by Dana Estes and Company (formerly Estes and Lauriat). Beautiful maroon textured leather with gilt and maroon endpapers and gilt lettering on the spines as well as the monogram of Horace S Smith (HSS) on the front of the memoirs. The Volumes are in very good condition with intact illustrations in a variety of mediums including photogravure and engravings. All the volumes have gilt top edges with untrimmed edges on the other two sides. All have the bookplates of Mrs. Horace S. Smith inside on the verso of the free endpaper. Tissue guards are in place, most with printed titles. Several pages have very bold partial watermarks, especially visible on the spares. Complete set of both Tennyson’s works and the memoirs written by his son.
