Howe has been Professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at Boston University since 1992. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Acoustics (UK) and of the Acoustical Society of America. He was appointed American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Rayleigh Lecturer for 1997 for his pioneering contributions to the science and applications of acoustics.
