Description: Tibetan mala bead earrings. Blue, red, brass & sterling silver 925. Handmade. Description: This is a pair of Tibetan mala bead earrings. The main beads come from a Tibetan mala or string of prayer beads. I bought them in Bodhgaya in India (Bodhgaya is the town in India where the Buddha was enlightened). I bought them from a Tibetan trader who had traveled down from Tibet for some teachings by the Dalai Lama. They have turquoise and red stone chips, and brass wire. I have made them into earrings using sterling silver wire. The ear hooks are also sterling silver (925). The beads are 1 cm across. The earrings are 3.2 cm long ( 1.25") from the top of the hooks. I have designed these earrings and put them together with my own hands. I have been making my living exclusively from designing and making jewellery for 9 years. I travel every year to seek out old and tribal silver from Asia and India along with semi-precious stones. Back at home in Brighton, England, I make these loose pieces up into beautiful and unusual jewellery. Every item will be sent beautifully packaged in a cotton gift bag made especially for me by a women's self help group in India.
