Document 1 – Titled: “A Message to VISITORS” – “This house is the headquarters of a community which has committed itself to the performance of certain creative activities: some choreographed, some improvised.” – instructions for UNIVITED VISITORS – “For obvious reasons the entrance to the community is by invitation only….etc.” and INVITED GUESTS – “The game of “Visit” like any other game is best played in terms of an explicit contract…etc.” – 1 mimeographed sheet – original – 2 light folds otherwise fine condition. Document 2 – Titled: “Message # 1 – Welcome to and EXPERIENTIAL WEEKEND” – Your weekend in Millbrook has been planned to provide a series of novel and consciousness expanding experiences….etc.” – part of the first step of the process is “ABSOLUTE SILENCE” – 1 mimeographed sheet – the original mimeographed sheet was lightly printed, a copy has been reproduced from the original and included with this package – see photos. – original mimeographed sheet plus reproduction Document 3 – Titled: “Max Picard, on SILENCE” – “Silence has greatness simply because it is. …There is also more silence in one person than can be used in a single human life…etc.” – A poem provided for further meditation – 1 mimeographed sheet – original – clean condition with natural toning. See photo. Document 4 – Titled: “Message # 2” – “This period of silence is designed to help you clear your mind from routine thoughts and to encourage an opening of your awareness in several ways. Please follow this program…” and “Wait serenely until you are contacted by a staff member.” – 1 mimeographed sheet – original – clean condition with natural toning. See photo. Document 5 – Titled: “Message # 3 – “HOW TO PLAY THE “EXPERIENTIAL WORKSHOP GAME” – What Do We Mean By Game – undated – “A game is a temporary social arrangement with the following characteristics: goals, roles, rules, strategies, space and time limits, values, and rituals….etc.” – 4 mimeographed pages – original – The pages are unmarked with some wrinkles and a couple of smudges but are in remarkably good condition.
