Description: This is a Redhead Drake Decorative Decoy carved by Tom Taber. It has his signature on the underneath but is not dated. It is close to life size measuring 12 inches from beak to tail. The Decoy is in wonderful condition for its age. We are guessing it to have been made in the 1980's. It is 6.5 inches high, 5 inches wide, and weighs 1 pound, 13 ounces. Tom Taber and his Company made a lot of decoys in the 1970's-1990's. They were very popular then and still are today. Typically, his decoys were made of distressed wood and were finished with a combination of paints and transparent stains that enhance the warmth of the wood and the decoy. We have loved his decoys for many years. This one was listed because we thought it enhanced a Tom Taber "The Duck Hunter is Home Sign" we recently listed.
