The renowned California potter Tony Evans, made this rare and unique studio pottery bowl (1942-2009). Evans was born in Wales and became an engineer, scientist, professor, and artist. He taught at many top American universities, Harvard, Princeton, Berkeley, and UCSB. This piece is from his Ancient Sands Collection. His pottery was made to look like ancient relics from the desert, sea, and past civilizations. He used the raku process to achieve this. Evans' work is exhibited and collected internationally, and he has won numerous awards for his ceramics.
