Description: Tosa Japanese sickle. Hand forged aogami no. 1 (blue) steel so it will maintain a sharp edge. An incredible double edged sickle! Blacksmith unknown. This Tosa sickle comes from the Kochi prefecture (formerly the Tosa province) where swords and kitchen cutlery have been hammer forged (handmade) for centuries. Tosa blacksmiths are widely known for their cutlery and tools. New old stock that was in long term warehouse storage in Japan so may have minimal scratches and chance of minor surface rust.
