Description: This cut of briolette stone can be fragile at the tip. The stringing hole is placed very close to the tip so care must be taken to not break off this sharp tip. A close-up of the photos shows the placement of this hole. As can be seen in the photos above, these are roughly shaped as briolettes -- looking more like sometimes a bell or a triangle. This is due to the fact that Tourmaline is a brittle metal thus difficult to make into exact cuts. So it is not used as much in jewelry as other more stable stones. Stones on this strand are all different as far as shape although the general idea for the briolette shape is evident. Holes are drilled far enough from the edge that they are not too fragile. Colors in the photos are not as dark as the actual. Two of the beads show some of the rose color that often occurs in Tourmaline. Price is for 9 Briolettes.
