TOYO VIEW 45G 4x5 LARGE FORMAT FILM Monorail Camera w/210mm f/5.6 Caltar II-N MC

Description: Here's a Real Nice LARGE FORMAT Field/Studio MONORAIL Camera for 4x5 Sheet Film Images (or it can be used for smaller ones like 6x9 with a 120 Rollfilm adapter.) Made in Japan, TOYO is a respected name in the View Camera world. I believe it's from the 1980's or thereabouts and it's the Model G. I really don't know too much about this type of camera--- it was always on my to-do list to learn, but I never got around to getting into it. It looks to be in Excellent Condition--- barely a few usage marks here and there--- nothing I see detrimental. Based on some rudimentary testing, the mechanical "view" functions all work and move smoothly and the Lens and ground glass Back looks perfect. The bellows has some wear & tear--- three of the sides are Great, but one side has some stressed fold corners, and a few small frays. (The second photo shows that side with some threads fraying.) I have not actually shot film with it, or even played around with it that much, so it's unknown how light tight the bellows is, and how well all of the other performance nuances are. But it sure looks pretty good, so I doubt there are any other issues. It has a Caltar II-N 210mm f/5.6 MC lens in a Copal 1 shutter, mounted on the appropriate Toyo board. ( I think Caltar lenses were made by Schneider.) The lens glass is Very Clean--- just a few dust specs, but they won't do anything noticeable--- it should still shoot very well--- see the photos. The shutter speeds sound/look good, all the way down to 1 second (maybe that one is a tad slower). The Aperture works as it should and is Clean with No oil. But I can make no guarantees on how is actually is--- the speeds have not been "bench tested" and I have not shot any film with it. Also included is a Extension Rail, Cable Release, and Cloth Cover/Hood by Wood-Hood. What you see is what you'll get--- the actual item for sale is pictured.
