That makes the insetion of your trailer hitch much less difficult and frustrating than it would be otherwise. The sleeve has 2 spring loaded "bumps" sticking out of the cover sleeve. That makes it easy to slip the cover in place with the bumps snapping into the holes in your trailer hitch securing it in place. The decorative oval measures 5 1/2" x 3" and the sleeve is 2 5/8" long and is designed to fit a 2" x 2" hitch.
