This type of posts were used by the Tuaregs outside of the tent to mark the entrance of the tent. The handle ( upper part of the post ) is hand engraved with traditional Tuareg symbols. The post is in good condition with cracks in the wood , some damages and some wear due to age and usage. Please see photos. The length of the post 38" ( 97 cm ) long. Although most Tuareg now practice some degree of Islam, they are not considered Arabic.
