Description: Two 19th century, framed tiles by celebrated makers, Minton & Co. Each formed from a plastic clay, 6 inch tile, set in a painted, wooden frame with hook for hanging. These are encaustic, glazed tiles, inlaid with three colours of slip, so the pattern will never wear off. In red, brown and buff, and in the Neo-Medieval / Gothic Revival style of Augustus Pugin, the tiles have a geometric design featuring a stylised central flower (floret) set in a geometric array. External frame dimensions: 225mm x 225mm x 28mm Tile dimensions: 150mm x 150mm x 18mm These items show wear commensurate with age. Condition is good overall. There are some marks and some discolouration to the surface of the tiles but no cracks. The frame is scratched/scuffed in areas (See photos). Please check the photos carefully as they form part of the description. I take great care when packing all my tiles to ensure a safe delivery. Please see my other items for sale including similar tiles, some in matching frames.
