Description: Two small tintypes, each about 1½” x 2”, mounted in embossed Civil-War era cards which were patented by Potter in March 1865 (these examples do not have the patent stamped on them). One of the cards has the curious notation “taken from life” pencilled in, indicating that this is an original photo and not a copy. That seems to me an un-necessary comment.Cards are 2½” x 4”. I have lots of tintypes listed today, I will refund you any postage savings if you are buying multiple items.
