The fine detail of the locomotive has run smooth but could be re-engraved back to its original beauty. I've seen this done several times and they look stunning! Typically you'll find the locomotive or steam engine engraved on the back of a silveroid or ore silver and rarely in Sterling silver. Most pocket watch cases that are silver are 800 coin silver. The total weight of this watch is 5.15 Oz. That means there's a lot of sterling in the case. This watch case is a lever set fit for your finest railroad grade pocket watch movement although currently it has a 15 Jewel 18 size Waltham that wine smoothly sets properly and appears to be running well. The thick beveled glass Crystal is an excellent condition with only fine brush marks. Both front and rear cover screw on smoothly.
