In 1044, Elizaveta became the wife of the Norwegian king Harald Suvory, who during his first visits to Kyiv fell in love with the princess and, having gained fame and treasures, returned for her. For the second time, Elizaveta Yaroslavna married the Danish king Sven II Estridsen after the death of Harald, who was killed in battle.
