Description: ULTRA RARE | 2001 Pokemon Center New York Exclusive | Tomy Figure Set NIB. For sale is a sealed in box Pokémon Center New York Tomy figure starter set. This set was sold exclusively at PCNY, making its release extremely limited. The production run of this figure set is significantly smaller compared to the more common Hasbro release Tomy figure sets. For comparison, if you are a collector you have likely seen multiple Hasbro Special Edition figure sets for sale, most of which sell within the $300 range (these are not very htf). Other collectors I’ve spoke too did not even know this Pokémon Center NY Starter Set existed, let alone seen it for sale. This set is brand new in its original box. The tape seal is still intact. Some background on this… The Pokémon Company converted Tomy Figure sets that were already for sale in Japan to be translated for sale at the PCNY location. Translated packaging/figures include the black box series, trainer sets, starter sets (like the one for sale), and Moncolle collector storage cases. The figures inside the PCNY releases were the same figures released throughout North America by Hasbro, but in Pokémon Center exclusive packaging. The North America Pokémon Center version are naturally much harder to find than the Hasbro versions and the Japanese Pokémon Center version given PCNY’s short existence(check the listing photo for reference as to what the Japanese Pokémon Center version of this looked like).
