The lot contains books 1 to 6 from the Oliver Quintrell Series ‘Under Admiralty Orders’. The series features seafaring tales set in the early 1800’s, and vividly captures life at sea during those times. Characters in the series manned sailing ships of that period, with open water adventures, weather, encounters with slave traders, and warring ships. Much of the focus is on life above and below the deck, including the conversations between seamen who are the hart and soul of any sailing ship. Books included: Book 1 – Floating Gold Book 2 – The Tainted Prize Book 3 – Admiralty Orders Book 4 – The Unfortunate Isles Book 5 – The Seventy-Four Book 6 – Nelson’s Wake Condition: Very Good over all, except for an issue with Book 1. Book 1 has a chunk of material the size of a silver dollar cut out of the cover (upper left) and the first page. See photo. Beyond that, these books are nice. Bindings tight, pages bright. No writing inside that I can see. Some light handling is apparent, and some very light scuffing on the high gloss covers. Book corners are nice. These are very nice copies, with the exception of the one issue noted. Otherwise, hardly touched. This set is not ex-library books. I am not a book exchange company or Goodwill, where books are played out or pretty much ‘well fingered’ and obviously handled a lot. I mail items surrounded by cardboard, unlike some sellers that drop it in a thin plastic bag and call it good. I want it to arrive in the same condition you see in the photos.
