This ring, to me, is really about the mounting. Yes, the pearl is very nice quality and quite large at 8 mm but the unique setting really "makes" the ring. The natural Akoya pearl is nestled into the folds of a bypass spiral basket mounting with "spokes" like a bicycle wheel. The pearl has a lot of lustre--I did not attempt to clean this ring but it could be carefully cleaned by the new owner. It is elegant and a showcase piece, as far as pearl rings go!! The face measures 5/8" in diameter. It's marked 10k, is a size 6.75 (sizeable by a competent jeweler) and weighs 4.6 grams. This genuine vintage pearl ring is in very fine condition.
