Description: UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO Rockets centennial 3.5" coin Ohio 1872-1972 Future of Man This is a previously-owned, bronze “University of Toledo” coin manufactured in 1972 as part of the school’s centennial. It features University Hall on one side and the eagle / coat of arms (belonging to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain) on the other side. It measures approximately 3½ inches in diameter and will likely need cleaned (see picture)… Located in Toledo, Ohio, the school began in 1872 as a private arts and trades school. By the ‘20s, the school was expanding, and a new campus was constructed in the Collegiate Gothic design. Centennial Mall, the picturesque lawn area in the heart of campus, is one of the “100 most beautifully landscaped places in the country” (only 22 college campuses are on the list). The University of Toledo’s sports teams play in the Mid-American Conference championship… The seal on the backside features the coat of arms belonging to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain, who sponsored Christopher Columbus' 1492 voyage across the Atlantic Ocean… Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
