Description: 20cm by 15cm Original Postcard intended to be used to promote the Grand National meeting at Aintree Racecourse. It is undated but would be from around the early 1970's as evidenced by the last line of the text ' one is left wondering and hoping about the future of Aintree Racecourse '. The postcard features Lottery who had won the first ever running of the Grand National in 1839. These Postcards were sent out to Owners, Trainers and Media etc normally around the Christmas period of the year prior to the Race. This was among items uncovered when renovations were done at Aintree Racecourse some years ago, it was found in Paddock Lodge home to Mrs Mirabel Topham whose family owned Aintree with Mrs Topham running the business. She had kept numerous publicity type items from her time in charge which were sold at a major London Sports Memorabilia Auction and this is from that sale. Very good condition. OVERSEAS BUYERS.... I never overcharge for shipping, please wait for a combined invoice for multiple purchases or if Ebay insist on your paying for items separately then I will return overpaid shipping once the items are dispatched.
