Description: For sale is an early Scandinavian silver tablespoon with pricked engraving, dated 1820 and 1840. The spoon is 8 1/8 inches long and weighs 29 grams. The spoon has a swaged pointed arch drop and a long thin oval pointed downturned handle. It is engraved “Z.A. a L.W. 2.10 Jann 1840” on the handle front and “H.L.W. v. H.G.S. 23 M 1820” on the handle back. It has an odd square mark on the back of the handle tip. Condition on the spoon is fairly good. The handle is a bit wavy, with a dent on one side, and there is normal wear from use. An unusual old spoon.
