Description: Uprated Fat Boy Model Rocket Kit From Bad Boy Rocketry. 2.6" Diameter, over a foot long, 24mm ("E") motor mount, plywood rings and fins. The original Fat Boy Model Rocket was a great-looking rocket that was very popular back in the 90's. With its stubby shape and small motor. It was, unfortunately, a poor flyer and was built so lightweight it was easy to damage. Instead of building a clone of this classic, we decided to give it the "bad boy" treatment and upsize the motor to 24mm "E" power and build it with plywood fins and rings like our upscale Goonybirds. The result is this absolutely gorgeous build by prototyper Thomas Lair that flew beautifully on an E12-4 motor. Kit includes a plastic nose cone, heavier body tube than the original, laser-cut plywood rings and fins, "E" motor mount, Kevlar brand shock cord, 1/4" launch lugs, High quality vinyl decals from the one and only Stickershock, tube slotting guide and step-by-step instructions. This is an advanced construction kit that requires you to slot your own tube and reinforce the nose cone attachment because of the significant added nose weight required to balance it. This is not recommended for your first rocket kit. This kit is designed to fly on Estes E12-4 motors and a heavy-duty launch pad. It is not recommended for the porta-pad or smaller motors. This kit does not include a parachute or Nomex. An 18" nylon parachute is recommended, we carry them in our store, if you do not have one already. Always observe all NAR safety rules when flying this, or any, rocket. Thanks for looking.
