Description: For sale here is a Theater Made US WW2 Army Cotton Field Cap. I found this in a WW2 soldier's foot locker. The cap is made of a dark shade of OD Green Cotton Poplin type fabric. The cap features a front and rear seam, two green painted grommets on each side, and a 6 stitch line short bill. The cap has a distinct ranger or patrol cap look. The grommets retain all of their paint. The body of the cap shows wear, light soiling, age, and it has been stored flat and has wrinkles to show for it. Inside, the cap is unlined and has a cotton sweatband. The inside of the cap shows similar light wear to the outside. There appears to be a maker's stamp in the top that i cannot make out, but i can see a size marking of 54. There are also handwritten initials or a name that also cannot be read. I am not sure if this is a foreign cap that the soldier procured or if it was made on the late war field cap pattern. If you know, let me know, and i will update the listing.
