It is an illuminated mercury glass pedestal that has a removable glass insert at the top. The color situation is this - I ordered silver but since these have not been opened I am seeing them for the first time. And I am seeing more champagne color than silver. Which is fine, but if you are wanting a bright silver, a true silver, this would not be for you. And compare the first photo to the second photo. They are taken in exactly the same lighting, yet I see champagne in the first one and more silver in the second one. The fourth photo is illuminated. This piece has a rounded base and ribbed center design. You can remove the mirror insert for even more displayoptions or keep it on top of the pedestal to reflect the things you choose to display. This piece has a very nice size and will accommodate up to a 9"H x 4"D pillar candle if you choose. Measurements on this are 7-1/4"H x 5-3/8"Diameter, weighs 1 lb, 14 oz; Mirrorinsert 4-1/8" in diameter. A substantial piece. When you want to illuminate, you have an On or Timer feature. If you choose Timer, your pedestal will come on at the same time every day. This needs two C batteries which I am including with your order.
