There was only so much CNN International that I could take, so I landed on MTV Germany. One of the first videos I saw was "Dickes B" by Seeed, and my first thought was: "Wow, they have reggae in Germany?" and my second thought was, "Damn, these guys are cool." I saw a lot of German hip hop and reggae on MTV that trip and I brought a lot of it home with me. Most of my friends had no idea that a vibrant and exciting hip hop music scene was flourishing across the ocean in another language (this was before reggaeton blew up). I thought that somebody needed to bring this music to the American audience, and after a few years of waiting for someone else to do it, I got fed up and compiled this album myself. There are some big hits, some underground cuts, and a few in between. I tried to catch alot of different styles and vibes.
