VERY EARLY M.W. & CO THIN FACE MORTISE LOCK w/KEYS & STRIKEPLATE (41214) Vintage, circa 1860 Mallory Wheeler & Co, New Haven thin face mortise lock. Completely restored, comes with two keys, heavy steel thin face of 7/8" width. Overall very nice, clean and functions perfectly.Requires a standard size 5/16" knob post shaft.Mortise lock has a face plate length of 6 7/8" and a width of 7/8"" and thickness of 1/8". The box is only 3/8" thick! Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 13/16". Screws are on 5 1/8" centers. The drop from the center of the knob post hole to the center of the round portion at the top of the key slot is 2 1/2". Very nice lock, should last another 150 years!
