Description: VERY RARE LARGE 8" FRAMED MINTON TILE by JOHN MOYR SMITH This really is a superb, and I would think very rare (I've not seen this design set in the past - I originally thought it maybe from the seasons series, unfortunately, or fortunately it's not.) and large framed transfer printed dust pressed Minton wall tile designed in, I think, 1870's-80's by John Moyr Smith and depicts a man engaged in agricultural work inside a floral border. In a framed large (8") form wall tile it is decorated with a sepia image of the mentioned scene enclosed inside the foliate border. It measures 8" (20.5cm) approx (without the frame); and is in really excellent condition with what can be seen - see photographs and details.
