Description: DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 1880’S FASHIONED OF A WOOL BLEND IN A RARE ORIGINAL LIGHT CHARCOAL COLOR. BUTTONS CLOSED INVISIBLY IN THE FRONT, THE BUTTONS ARE IN MATCHING LIGHT CHARCOAL HUE WITH A CHECKERBOARD PATTERN. HIGH CHEST POCKET ON THE LEFT SIDE WITH POCKETS ON EACH SIDE AND AN ADDITIONAL SMALL WATCH POCKET ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THE MAIN POCKETS ARE LINED IN A BLONDE VELVET. MATCHING BUTTONS TRIM THE CUFFS. THE REAR BOTTOM HAS A SHALLOW VENT THE INTERIOR IS LINED IN A WOOL AND SILK BLEND WITH A STRIPED SILK IN THE SLEEVES. CONDITION: THE BUTTONS ON THE CUFFS HAVE WEAR TO THE COVERING AND THE INNER METAL IS VISIBLE. SEVERAL PINHEAD SURFACE NIPS MUST BE HUNTED FOR, NONE GO TO A FULL HOLE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TWO THAT ARE JUST ASIDE THE BOTTOM BUTTON AND WHEN BUTTONED CLOSED, ARE COMPLETELY UNSEEN. THE LINING HAS ISSUES THROUGHOUT WITH BREAKS ON THE INNER NECKLINE AND ACROSS THE REAR BACK WITH BREAKS AND FRAYS ALONG THE BOTTOM EDGE AND THE SILK THAT LINES THE SLEEVES HAS PULLED AWAY FROM THE MAIN LINING AND IS WEAK AND BREAKING. VERY RARE TO FIND THESE MEN’S COATS IN ANY COLOR OTHER THAN BLACK.
