Description: DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 19TH CENTURY FASHIONED OF A BLUE COTTON WITH WHITE BRAID DETAIL IN SAILOR STYLING WITH CUFFS AND BOTTOM TRIMMED IN THE WHITE BRAID. HOOK AND EYES CLOSE THE FRONT, FOUND WITHOUT BLOOMERS. THE LABEL ON THE INTERIOR READS THE PROGRESSIVE WATER WITCH BATHING SUIT. CONDITION: TWO PLEATS WERE TAKEN INSIDE ABOVE THE WHITE STITCHING TO SHORTEN THE LENGTH APPROXIMATELY TWO INCHES, COULD BE LET OUT IF DESIRED. THE HOOK AND EYES ARE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT UP THE FRONT. THE FRONT SEAM HAS COME FREE UNDER EACH FRONT UNDERARM, EASILY STITCHED BACK INTO PLACE. AN ADDITIONAL ONE INCH SEAM ON THE REAR SLEEVE IS STARTING TO OPEN AS WELL. THE BOTTOM CUFF HAS A TURNED UP EDGE THAT HAS PARTIALLY COME FREE ON THE LEFT SLEEVE EDGE. A NEAT STITCHING BACK COULD RESOLVE. THERE IS A FINGERTIP RUST STAIN JUST ASIDE THE LABEL ON THE INTERIOR, UNSEEN FROM THE EXTERIOR.
