Description: Victorian bodice, circa late 1890s. Red, black, white, and gray checkered plaid print. Rendered in a Gibson Girl, late Victorian to Edwardian, puffed rouched and ruffled sleeve bodice blouse. Silk taffeta and satin fabric Hook-and-eye closures run down the lining. Corseted boning. The silk ribbon bib has tears, one on the hook side of the brown (cotton?) lining. There is a silk satin ruffle at one of the wrists. The belt wraps around the bottom of the blouse, but is missing eye hook closures to fasten it securely. This antique costume is in good condition for its age. It would be great as a museum display piece, historical research piece, or Film and Television costume. Measurements: Bust: 29" Waist: 22" Length: 16" Sleeves: 17.5" (pit to cuff) This blouse is part of an estate lot I acquired from a Victorian home located in a Rocky Mountain National Historic Landmark District. The house was built in the 1800s and was recently purchased by someone from the family living there who was also an antique dealer. I have made no attempts at cleaning or restoration. Some of the items are in better condition than others. This lot includes clothing from the 1800s through the Edwardian period. Items are sold as is. Please refer to the photographs and descriptions, and ask any condition questions you have before you purchase.
