Description: Hello and Welcome to the Textile Trunk! Please follow us on Instagram textiletrunk What an incredible piece! This stunning textile is an early 1900s Victorian womens collar dating to the early 1900s and is simply gorgeous! This piece is black silk with black machine made lace over the top. The front and collar fasten with little metal snaps and a metal eyehook at the bottom. There are collar stays hand stitched around the collar opening to keep the collar open and flat - Im not sure what they are made of... they feel like plastic, but since this is an early 1900s piece perhaps they are made of Bakelite? Im not entirely sure, but they are such an incredible addition to this already amazing piece! This would be beautiful to wear again or use in a costume, or could be design inspiration! A wonderful vintage find! MEASUREMENTS : This beautiful collar measures approximately: 12 inches from shoulder to shoulder The neck opening is approximately 13 inches circumference 8 inches long from the collar top to the back hem 11 inches wide across the bottom hem CONDITION : I have left this collar in as found, unwashed condition for collectors, but it can be hand washed and hung to dry. Its generally in beautiful condition for this type of antique textile! inv #: E bodice 3429 20220106
