The man is furnished with a silver collar engraved with plants and a heron hallmarked: 'Sheffield 1882' With a makers mark: 'RMEH' For the Sheffield-based silversmith: 'Martin, Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall)' The collar also has the original owner's initials: 'W.F.L' The top of the man's head is a pipe bowl, with a hole at the back to insert the stem of the pipe. Exotic wood shaft with a metal ferrule which when removed, reveals the stem of the pipe. A rare cane perfect for a collector or for use.
