This sewing basket is the perfect example of more is better Bronze green raffia and braided strips woven around curvy corners silk bow and quilted lining. Probably German. This cherished heirloom has survived with very little wear. The raffia on the back right corner is fraying, the silk bow on top has shattered and the bottom of the lining has discolored from the spools of threads stored inside. It measures just about 9 square by just about 5 high. On the whole, theres so much to admire and so little to detract. This charming basket was a Ladys pride and then fancied by me for yearsnow its time for it to find a new home, as I am downsizing.
