Description: Boy’s waistcoats 1890-1900 found in a family trunk. They were most likely worn by a young preteen as he transitioned to more formal dress. There are two white vests in the lot, and they are almost identical in design. I believe the vest’s material to be cotton sateen with buttons surrounding the waist which would have been fastened to the trousers. The waistcoats have buttons at the back. Both vests show wear and soiling. The first vest is missing a waist button and the second vest photographed seems to have a leeching of dye from the buttons. Please refer to the photos for specifics on each piece. All items have not been cleaned and are sold as-is. I do my best to point out all condition issues and provide a detailed description and photographs. Please see photos for condition and ask if you have questions. Measurements: Vest 1 - Shoulder to shoulder 11.5 inches, Armpit to armpit 13.5 inches, Nape of neck to back hem 17.75.Vest 2 - Shoulder to shoulder 10.75 inches, Armpit to armpit 13 inches, Nape of neck to back hem 17.75.
